List the specific NETS standards for Students and Teachers this activity covers. Discuss how your activity meets these standards.
Students:
2. Communication and Collaboration
2a. Students interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital environments and media.
I believe this SMARTboard presentation meets this particular standard because students are working with the teacher, and with each other, in order to determine the correct answers to the questions provided in the lesson. It supports not only individual learning, but also the learning of others.
4. Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making
4c. Students collect and analyze data to identify solutions and/or make informed decisions.
For teachers:
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
2a. Teachers design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
This lesson allows teachers to use digital tools to promote student learning of the phases of the moon. It helps student visualize the different angles and views of the moon at certain points, instead of just using their imagination.

How the SMARTboard could improve student learning in my class:
I believe the interactive white board improves learning by engaging the students in the lesson. I can use the content to interact with students in a way that they are familiar with--with technology.
And not only would I have this technology at my fingertips, but by sharing SMARTboard lessons on the web, I also have a community of teachers from whom I can glean information. Teachers can exchange ideas and discuss what works and what doesn't. This will help me plan a more effective lesson.
If I do have a SMARTboard in my future classroom, I will make sure to have the students use it more than I do. And when I am using it, I will probably want my students to sit on the floor, close to me, so that I can have their attention more fully. This will help to ensure that they are engaged, and paying attention.
