Wildwood Elementary Website

My first impression was that it is not exactly pleasing to the eyes. The graphics are monochromatic (different shades of blue) and the text varies in size so the reader has a difficult time deciding which information is important.

The website’s features include a message from the principal, a staff e-mail list (with a few pictures of staff members in the school), an Accelerated Reader Book Search, a school calendar, a link to PTA information, an emergencies bulletin which links to the district’s website, and two links to math websites.

I am a little disappointed to see that the website of the elementary school that I attended for 7 years doesn’t have more to offer! I really think it could be a strong page if it was more “kid-friendly.” It definitely needs more interactive, educational sites, and I personally love to see pictures of teachers interacting with students. There is a partial mission statement mentioned in the principal’s welcome letter, but I think it’d be fun to have it on the front page for all to see. This way parents would be drawn to enrolling their students at Wildwood.

I do like that they use paw prints as graphics on the page, since they are the “Wildwood Wildcats!”
